Radiant barrier is effective in reducing energy costs

Radiant Barrier

Looking for ways to insulate your home and reduce energy costs? A wide selection of materials to suit many of your insulation needs is available right here at Radiantguard.com. Whether you are looking for a product for your attic or for your concrete floor, we have the right barriers to keep your home comfortable and have you saving money as well. We also have several articles at your disposal on common questions and information to help you with your purchase. Our popular Standard, Premium, and Ultima foil Radiant GUARD products are two-sided and consist of a 99% pure aluminum surface with a poly fabric center. The aluminum provides reflectivity, while the poly center provides strength and tear resistance that is needed for the product to perform well. This versatile radiant barrier can be used for new or retrofit roof designs, radiant heat flooring systems, or house-wrapping. The minimal air space needed to work most efficiently is nothing compared to the effectiveness of this product over time. Foil products are especially useful in attics as insulation overlay, laid over the attic floor, stapled to the underside of roof rafters, or as part of the roof decking system. It is incredibly easy to install and requires no special tools or special protective clothing needed.

The different durabilities of the radiant energy barrier

We carry different strengths of foil Radiant GUARD products: standard, premium, and ultima. All of the grades of radiant energy barrier are lightweight and will remain unaffected by changes in humidity. The Ultma strength comes in solid and all strengths come in the perforated version, it just depends on the uses you have for them. Perforated versions are needed when you are using the radiant barrier in the attic, as houses need to breathe and moisture vapor rises and needs to pass through. Otherwise you could trap the water in the air resulting in water damage to your attic floor and rafters. You can learn more about the different version by visiting our perforated radiant barrier versus non-perforated solid vapor barrier. Reflective aluminum foil insulation is easy to install and requires no maintenance. With the reduction in heating and cooling costs reflective insulation pays for itself rather quickly. Our premium radiant barrier should be used when the project calls for a little stronger material, and our ultima product is our strongest grade aluminum foil. It should be used for contractor-grade applications and is ideal when you need the ultimate in strength and durability. Browse through our huge selection of products today to find a radiant energy barrier that is suitable for your next project. We are happy to provide samples and customized quotes.
